The short version. Fermly does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data. Everything you log — batches, recipes, cultures and feeding history — is stored only on your own device. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party SDK. The app requests internet access for a single purpose: to display this policy inside the app.

This application is published by an organization account on Google Play.

02 Data Collection
Fermly collects no data whatsoever. We do not collect personal information, usage analytics, device identifiers, advertising identifiers, location, contacts, photos, crash telemetry or any other category of data. No information is transmitted from your device to us or to anyone else, because the app has no server and no account system.
03 Data Usage
The content you create — ferment batches, stage timelines, recipes, cultures, feeding logs, ratings, notes, tags and preferences — is used solely to operate the app's features on your device. Statistics, charts, streaks and achievements are calculated locally from your own entries, in memory, at the moment you open the relevant screen. None of these computations leave the device.
04 Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, disclose or transfer any data, because we never receive any. If you choose to use the app's export feature, the resulting JSON or CSV file is created on your device and passed to the Android share sheet under your control. What happens to that file is entirely your decision; the app does not upload it anywhere.
05 Data Security
Your data is protected by the device's own security model, plus:
- Local database (Hive): batches, recipes and cultures are stored in the app's private, sandboxed storage, inaccessible to other apps.
- Encryption at rest: feeding logs are stored in an AES-256 encrypted database box.
- Android Keystore: the encryption key and your settings are held via
flutter_secure_storage, backed by the platform keystore. - No transmission: data cannot be intercepted in transit because it is never transmitted.
06 Data Retention
Your data remains on your device until you remove it. You can delete individual items, or erase everything at once via Settings → Clear all data. Uninstalling the app removes all of its data from the device. Because we hold no copy, there is nothing for us to retain or delete on our side.
07 No User Accounts
Fermly has no registration, no sign-in, no password and no profile. You cannot create an account because none exists. The app is fully functional the moment it is installed, with no identity attached to it.
08 Children's Privacy (COPPA)
Fermly does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Since no data of any kind is collected from any user, the app cannot collect a child's personal information. Fermly is a general-audience utility and is not directed at children or enrolled in Google Play's "Designed for Families" programme.
09 Your Rights
Because all of your information stays on your own device, you have complete and direct control over it at all times:
- Access: all data is visible in the app, at any time.
- Portability: export a complete JSON backup or CSV files from Settings.
- Rectification: edit or correct any entry directly.
- Erasure: delete individual items, use Settings → Clear all data, or uninstall.
No request to us is necessary to exercise any of these rights, and we could not action one if you made it, since we hold no copy of your data.
10 No Third-Party Services
Fermly integrates no third-party analytics, advertising, crash-reporting, attribution, social or cloud services. There are no tracking SDKs, no advertising identifiers and no remote configuration. The app's functionality is entirely self-contained.
11 Permissions
Fermly declares exactly one Android permission:
| Permission | Why it exists |
|---|---|
INTERNET |
Solely to load this privacy policy page in an in-app browser view from Settings. No other network request is ever made. |
Fermly does not request camera, microphone, location, contacts, storage, notification or any other permission. Reminders are shown as an in-app "Today & Upcoming" list rather than push notifications, specifically so no notification permission is needed.
12 Google Play Data Safety
Our Google Play Data Safety declaration states that no data is collected and no data is shared. This is an accurate description of the app's behaviour: all processing is on-device, and the app contains no code capable of transmitting your content anywhere.
13 Policy Dates & Changes
Effective date: 21 July 2026.
Last updated: 21 July 2026.
If this policy changes, the revised version will be published at this address with an updated date, and a corresponding app update will be released. Material changes will be summarised in the release notes. Since no data is collected, no change can retroactively affect information previously gathered.
14 Contact
Questions about this policy or the app's privacy behaviour can be sent to [DEVELOPER_EMAIL]. Please note that we cannot look up, recover or delete your in-app data, because it exists only on your device.
15 Legal & Compliance
This policy is provided by an organization publisher and is written to comply with the Google Play Developer Programme Policies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
- GDPR: no personal data is processed, so there is no controller-to-subject data flow, no lawful-basis requirement and no cross-border transfer.
- CCPA/CPRA: no personal information is collected, sold or shared. There is nothing to opt out of.
- COPPA: no information is collected from any user, including children.
